Welcome to the Actuary Club!
With summer coming to an end, I’m excited to say that it’s finally time to kick off our fall events. We have many coming up, and I encourage you all to attend. This Thursday evening from 5:30pm-7:00pm, in Bruininks Hall 117, is our first meeting of the semester! Willis Towers Watson will be presenting, and, more importantly, free food will be served. I hope to see you all there!
Onto the next order of business, there are some important announcements to be made:
It is highly recommended that you attend every club-sponsored event that you can. Meeting and developing relationships with employers will be crucial to your success as an actuary.
The Allianz site visit is Friday, 10/14. Allianz is generously sponsoring a bus to transport students to and from the visit. The bus will leave at 9:15 from the McNamara Alumni Center, and the visit will run from 10:00am to noon. Students will have a chance to hear from Neil McKay, the Chief Actuary, about his career path followed by a chance for Q&A. This is a great opportunity for students currently in the interview process with Allianz and anyone else interested in learning more about the company.
The registration form has closed. For any last minute sign-ups, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 8:00 am Friday morning.

We are excited to announce our first site visit of the year! We will be visiting Ameriprise next Friday, 9/16. The visit will run from 9:45am – 12:45pm. The agenda includes an overview of the company, several panel discussions, lunch, and a tour of the headquarters.
Since their internship program is a big part of the planned discussions, Ameriprise is targeting an audience of sophomores and juniors. There will be a cap of 25 students for this visit. Spots will fill up quickly so register as soon as possible.
If you are a freshman or senior, this doesn’t mean you are excluded. If you are interested and would like to learn more about Ameriprise, please sign up. We will send a confirmation email once registration has closed.
An important note: if you have registered, you must attend. If you realize you will not be able to show up, you must let us know at least two days in advance so we can give your spot to someone else. You will not be able to attend the next site visit if you fail to do so.
